Revenge of the Savage Planet: Alta Coupon Crate Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Alta Coupon Crates in Revenge of the Savage Planet are the only source of Alta Bucks — the in-game currency for furnishing your Habitat with décor, furniture, and appliances from the Alta Store.
They're scattered across all four planets in clusters of one to five, frequently perched on plateaus, hidden in ravines, or tucked outside map borders.
All confirmed crate locations, including community-submitted finds, are marked on MapMaster's Revenge of the Savage Planet interactive maps.
Five Achievements Run on Alta Bucks
- Alta Bucks for Alta People — find 25 Alta Coupon Crates. Naturally completed while exploring the first two planets; the crates are everywhere once the pattern of checking plateaus and ravine floors becomes habit.
- Alta Cares — open one undamaged crate. Nearly every crate in the wild is dented or cracked; the guaranteed pristine crate sits on the roof of your own Habitat in Nu Florida, reachable with a double jump early in the game. In co-op, this only unlocks for the Host.
- Homemaker — buy and place any single Alta Store item.
- Crash Pad — buy and place 20 unique décor or furniture pieces. Duplicates don't count; buying the cheapest items works fine.
- Entertained to Death — place and interact with the SLAPPI doll, only purchasable after defeating the final boss.
Gear-Gated Crates: Come Back Later
Several crates can't be reached or opened on the first pass:
- The underwater cluster in Slarragon Forest requires the Franx Underwater Scooter, found in Chikit's Pools
- The mountain-wall crates in the same region need the Power Hose (water the Dehydrated Fungal Polyps to climb) or the Proton Tether Launcher
- Four crate pairs around the Habitat only spawn after the second Habitat upgrade — recheck Nu Florida after each upgrade tier
Co-Op Warning: Take Turns Opening
Crate progress may only count for the player who physically opens the crate.
When chasing Alta Bucks for Alta People in co-op, both players should alternate opening crates — or better, each open their own 25 across a session — to avoid one player finishing the achievement while the other sits at half count.
The Single Saddest Crate in the Game
One crate on Alta's Trash Mountain contains exactly one Alta Buck — a deliberate joke from Raccoon Logic, sitting on a garbage pile on the planet named after corporate waste.
It still counts toward the 25-crate achievement, so open it anyway. The satire is free.
